First Thoughts: Ordinary Skincare Extraordinary Night Cream

Ordinary Skincare Extraordinary Night Cream

I thought I would share my thoughts on a night cream I have been trying out recently. It is from the brand Ordinary Skincare; a brand I have never heard of or tried before, so I was eager to see how I felt using the product. Ordinary Skincare are a brand fairly new to the UK, who are a highly regarded specialist skincare brand from South Africa.

 First Thoughts

I really did enjoy using this product. I have been using a sample of the Ordinary Skincare Extraordinary Night Cream for a few Weeks now and I do like it as a night cream. The cream is quite thick and has a creamy texture to it, but not greasy. This is something I look for in a night cream as I hate feeling like I have greasy skin before bed! The product smells pleasant and
I have somehow developed a lot of dry skin patches on my face recently, so I am now trying to use products which will help me with this. I feel that this night cream does help with my dry patches as it is so rich and moisturising, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and fresh on a Morning. As I have only been using a few samples of the product I don't feel I am able to give a full review, pbut my first impressions of the product is that it works and is something I would consider using in the future.

Ordinary Skincare products are now available to buy online at http://www.ordinaryskincare.co.uk/.

Nivea Lip Products

I am a huge lip balm fiend, and am constantly hoarding any lip balm product I can get my hands on. I recently was looking through my stash and realized I have quite the collection of Nivea lip balms. I am a huge Nivea fan, so of course their lip balms are one of my favourites.
I previously featured one of my fave lip balms of theirs in 'milk and Honey' on a seperate blog post, which you can view here. Now, onto these four!
The Essential Care lip balm is great for every day wear, and helps to prevent dry and cracked lips. Pearly Shine and Soft Rose are tinted lip balms which have the same effect as a lip balm, with an added hint of colour. Pearly Shine is slightly sheer and is a 'my lips but better' shade. Soft Rose is my favourite of the too, leaving a light pink subtle hint of colour to the lips. Soothe & Protect contains an SPF 15 which is fantastic for the Summer Months and Holidays coming up.
All four of these lip balms are truly great products that help to prevent sore and dry lips. The best thing about Nivea products? The price. These are really inexpensive, and are available at most supermarkets. They are definitely worth picking up if you are a lip balm lover like me...

Nivea Double Effect Shower & Shave Review

Nivea Double Effect Shower & Shave

I am sure if you have been reading my blog for a while, you will be aware of my huge love for the brand Nivea. I think for such a simple, affordable brand they do so well on every day use products and they aren't praised highly enough of from bloggers. I sometimes think when we all join the bandwaggon with the expensive 'high end' beauty products we forget there are some brilliant, reasonably priced alternatives you can pick up for under a fiver.
I featured this product in my July favourites and it seems it is a popular product amongst some of you too. I know it is a little random to be writing a post on effectively just a shower gel, but I really do rate this top marks as it is fantastic for both price and quality.

This shower gel is aimed specifically for women shaving, an alternative to using shaving foam or gel. It is a good quality product as it leaves your legs feeling smooth, soft and silky after use.
The scent is gorgeous; with it being 'soothing avocado oil and delicate passion fruit scent'. It retails for between £1-£3 according from where you purchase it from - I have seen it dotted in a few pound shops recently though, so pick one up if your local store has one!

What is your favourite body or skin care product under £5?

Nivea Lip Balm in Milk & Honey

Nivea Milk & Honey

If you have read my blog for a while, you will know I blog about everything and anything. I ramble a lot here on my blog (and in real life, to, for the record) and if I like something, however random it may be, I like to share it.

Lip balms are something I own a lot of. I always have sore, chapped lips, and whenever a Brand brags about their new lip balms, I have to have it.

This lip balm is by Nivea, a brand I never stop going on about as I love it so much. This is the Nivea Pure Natural Lip Balm in Milk & Honey. The smell and taste of this lip balm is gorgeous, I cannot help but keep licking my lips. The lip balm is very soothing and moistursing, if you tend to get very sore dry lips like me this is a great product for you.

This is a really affordable product too, costing only £1.99 from Superdrug.

Are you a lip balm fiend like me? What is your favourite lip balm?

July Favourites

Monthly Favourites
July

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have done a monthly favourites post, I haven't really been using anything much different in the past few Months, but this Month I have been loving four different products which I thought I would share with you.

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body, Room and Linen Spritz
I picked this up in the sale at the beginning of July and have been absolutely adoring it ever since. It is a very strong cranberry scent which is perfect for around the home, I cant help but spritz it all over myself too.

MAC Powder Blush in Well Dressed (Satin)
I was lucky enough to win this gorgeous blush and I am beyond besotted with it! I have never used a MAC blush before but this is lovely and perfect for my very pale skin tone. It is a lovely light pink shade which I think would compliment anyone, it is very light and not overly pigmented which is something I love about it.

Nivea Double Effect Shower & Shave
I am a huge Nivea fan and began using this product this Month. The scents in it are avocado oil and passion fruit which I am you can imagine it smells amazing. It is a really soothing and gentle shower gel which makes shaving your legs so much more easier, leaving them feeling ultra soft. This is so inexpensive I can't praise it enough, it is probably my favourite product I have came across in a long time!

Cherry Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
This is something I am pretty sure every beauty lover/blogger owns and lives permanently in their handbag or on their desk. It is my favourite this Month as my lips always feel very dry and sore during hot weather conditions, this has been a constant go-to lip balm for me recently as it is very moisturising and seems to stop my lips from cracking.

What were your fave products this Month?

Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream

Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream

I was around 14 when I decided it was about time I got into a skin care routine. Previously I never really bothered looking after my skin but having quite oily skin made me realise I needed to take better care of it. The first moisturiser I began to use was this one - Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream - I must of liked it as I still use it today!

It leaves the skin feeling very smooth, supple and moisturised. I only use it as a face cream now, but it is great to moisturise your hands or body too.
It is a very thick moisturising so a little really does go a long way with this, sometimes I feel it is a little too thick to apply in the day so I use it as a night cream.
I really like this moisturiser as it has no scent to it - I adore my sweet and fruity body products but when applying moisturiser to my face especially I am not fond on scents.

You can purchase this moisturising cream from Boots and Superdrug, along with other pharmacies and supermarkets.

What is your go - to every day moisturiser?

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

Nivea Daily Essentials
Express Hydration Primer
Dry & Sensitive Skin

Information:

This product aims to moisturise your skin and to absorb instantly so that make up can be applied straight away. It aims to keep our skin feeling moisturised all day and to keep your make up stay put. It is contained in a 50 ml glass jar. It retails for around £5.05. This particular Primer is for Dry/Sensitive Skin.

Packaging:

As you can see, the product is held in a small little glass jar, with a pink lid which initiates what skin type it is aimed for. The box has information about the product which I have since thrown away.

Product:

The product feels and looks like a light moisturiser. For me, it suited my skin type even though I have quite oily skin, I bought this as I have had very dry skin the past two months and it works great for me. If applying too much though it doesn't work well for me, so I would suggest using a small amount.

My thoughts:

For me, I had to use the tiniest amount of this primer every time I used it as it would make my face look super greasy. It applied nicely and made my make up stay on all day which is good. The only downfall which really struck me was that it was definitely not a product which absorbed instantly. Whenever I use it, even very lightly, I have to wait at-least 15 minutes before applying my make - up which is kind of annoying if you are in a rush! In general though I do quite like the product itself and would consider buying it again in the future.

You can purchase the primer from Superdrug.

Have you tried any of the new Nivea range yet?

Nivea Lip Butters in Caramel Cream and Raspberry Rose

Its no secret that I am a huge lip balm fan. I have so many I am sure I am backed up for life. Anyway, when I heard a few months back Nivea were bringing out some lip butter balms, I couldn't wait to try them. And coincidently I had entered a give away and luckily received both the Raspberry Rose and Caramel Cream Lip Butters!

Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose and Caramel Cream  £2.25* each
Available at Boots and Superdrug

As you can see, these Nivea Lip Butters are packaged in extremely cute little screw tin pots which are very slim and easy to travel with. Unlike most lip balms stored in metal tins, these are really easy to open! They are scented and they both smell beautiful. My favourite is caramel cream, it smells delicious and I am constantly licking it off my lips. Raspberry Rose smells quite floral and sweet, just like raspberries, whereas caramel cream smells.. well just like caramel! They are both moisturising on the lips, but I find caramel cream much more moisturising out of the two. Both of these products are sheer just like the majority of lip balms. The lip balms last a good 8 hours with my lips still feeling very moisturised and soft.
I would buy these in future as I find them really moisturising and worth the hype.
