March Degustabox

I am a big fan of Monthly Subscription services. I especially love the surprise factor with subscription boxes, but my personal favourite thing to receive is food of-course! Degustabox is a Monthly surprise subscription service where you receive 9-14 food or drink products a Month; a lot of the time these items are new to the market or things you might not have picked up in your normal grocery shop. The box costs just £12.99 a Month but I have a £3 off discount code B2581 which you can enter at the checkout, which makes the box just £9.99!

What goodies are in this Months Box?

 Jordans Granola
Jordan's Granola Lighter with Strawberry and Blueberry is made with natural ingredients, and the lighter version of the granola is 30% less fat than regular granola. I absolutely love granola and eat it for breakfast all the time so I was eager to try this one, which is delicious and very filling. I am definitely going to buy this on my next grocery shop as I loved it.

Juiceburst Drinks
JuiceBurst is a fantastic juice drink and very reasonably priced too! I love the brand and choose it often when I am buying lunch, so I was pleased to see two bottles in this Months box. With 14 different flavours to choose from, there is a perfect juice for everyone. I received Cranberry and Mango & Lime in my box, which I have tried before and they taste great.

 BBQUE Original Bavarian Sauce
BBQUE is a brand I had never heard of before. I do enjoy BBQ sauce with a meal so I am looking forward to trying this. The Original Bavarian delicacy is made with cranberries, beer, honey and apples. I think this sauce would be great to use for dips or even for a Summer barbeque.

 Lindt Lindor Assorted Mini Eggs
Honestly, Lindt chocolate is by far my favourite chocaltier of all time so these will be perfect for Easter. We received two packets of these and they didn't last long, I must admit! Each packet contains an assortment of milk, dark and white chocolate mini eggs.

 Bassetts Jelly Babies Berry Mix
Lots of sweet treats is this Months box - yipee! These are the best Jelly Babies flavours in one bag which is fab if you are a big fan of the berry flavoured jelly babies - strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant. These are ideal for sharing when watching a film.

 Sour Patch Kids
Sour Patch Kids are jelly sweets with 6 different sour flavours. I always see these in the supermarket but never pick them up. I am a big fan of sour sweets and these are extremely sour - my favourite! I'll definitely have to get these again.

Crabbies Alcoholic Fruits
I have tried a few of the Crabbies Fruits but never these flavours, I am really looking forward to trying them as they sound right up my street! I love fruity ciders with a Sunday lunch so I'll probably be saving these for Easter Weekend. Crabbies Alcoholic Fruits were voted product of the Year which shows they are a big hit!

Kent's Kitchen Posh Noodles
Kent's Kitchen Posh Noodles are made with all natural ingredients, and are a low calorie snack. These are perfect for a quick fix to have something to eat when in a rush or you could even make a meal out of it and add salad, meat or fish. I have become familiar with Kent's Kitchen products recently and really do recommend their products, especially their stock pots!

 Natvia Sweetener
Nativa is a 100% naturally sourced alternative to artificial sweetener. The sweeteners have zero calories, and are a great way of adding a little sweetness to your food and drink without using lots of sugar.. I am a big fan of using sweeteners in my coffee, so these will be a great addition to try out, espeically as they are healthier than the average sweetener. I'm looking forward to giving them a whirl.

 Brioche Pasquier Baked Bread Bites
Brioche Pasquier has become a firm favourite brand of mine since receiving some of their products from Degustabox in the past, so thanks Degusta! These Baked Bread Bites are an alternative snack to potato crips, and are made with real french bread. Coming in at under 90 calories a bag, they will be perfect for a healthier alternative to crisps for a packed lunch.

I am so impressed with this Months box, there is nothing in the box that my family do not like so everything will be used. There were quite a few sweet treats in this box ready for Easter Weekend too, which is always good!

Get Britain Writing with Fancy Stationary! #NSW

Hi everyone, I am writing about writing again Today!

As you may know, National Stationary Week is not far ahead of us and I am getting involved in the hope of encouraging Britain to get writing a lot more. I for one really do need to spend more time writing, so I have tried to implement this into my daily routine. Little steps!

I have started writing lists of all the things I need to do that Day - I love to tick them off my list! I have also been jotting down blog ideas a lot more throughout the Day - it has really helped.

Another thing that has encouraged me to get writing is this absolutely beautiful pen by Sheaffer. It has been a long time since I have got so excited about pens, but this one in particular is a pretty nifty one indeed, and I cant stop using it!  I definitely think if you have a nice pen or a cool notepad it could help encourage people to write more.

Natural Beauty Buys: Evolve Skin Cocoon Body Wash

Evolve Skin Cocoon Body Wash

Another natural beauty post... What can I say? I am becoming a huge fan of natural beauty products, like I have already stated so many times recently. My skin really thanks me for it though, which is always good.
I decided to start a little series that I will hopefully be posting here once or twice a Month, which is called Natural Beauty Buys. I hope to be able to share some of my favourite natural beauty products here with you, as I have become quite a big fan of using products which include only natural ingredients.

Today I am talking about a Body Wash from the brand Evolve Beauty, which is called the Skin Cocoon Body Wash. Body Wash could be seen as quite a random thing to talk about or review, but in my experience I find reading reviews on body wash extremely helpful; because I suffer from irritated skin it is important I know what ingredients are in my body care products such as body wash, so I find natural beauty reviews like this useful, so I hope you do too!

The product is suited to dry and sensitive skin, which is something I do suffer with which is partly the reason I picked this body wash. Costing £9.99, it isn't the cheapest of body washes, but I have found that paying a little extra sometimes for natural products helps my skin a lot more than buying whatever is on offer at the supermarket.
The product cleanses my skin really well. It doesn't lather up a lot, but a little does go a long way. Most importantly, the body wash doesn't leave my skin with any further irritation or blemishes, which is exactly what I look for in a body wash. The scent is quite muted, pleasant and smells fresh. There isn't anything I can say about this product which I don't like, as I find it helps my skin feeling cleansed and clean, as well as the product leaving my skin a little moiturised after use, too.

You have probably seen me rave about the website Mypure on my blog before - I have worked with them with reviewing products and have also bought a lot myself from the website. I really recommend their website if you suffer from irritated skin like me, as I have found that natural beauty products to be a lot kinder to my skin and hair.

Intu Spring/Summer Fashion Event

Last Week I headed to the Intu Shopping Centre, Merry Hill, for a sneak peak at the Spring/Summer collections which are hitting our fashion stores now. It was a blogger and press event, where we were able to see some previews of what will be featuring the fashion shows at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre this Weekend coming. We were treated to refreshments and were able to see the gorgeous models walk down the catwalk in style in some stunning clothes which are available at reasonable prices - and you can pick them up in the high street stores, too, which of-course is amazing - who doesn't want to look gorgeous for a fraction of a designer price?!

Fashion stylist Lola Royle presented the show, explaining why she put the outfits together and gave us plenty of info on what is on trend this Season. We were able to have a sneak peak of some of the latest fashion trends and were able to see some of the beautiful collections that the high street stores have to offer this Spring/Summer 2015.
The stores which were involved in the fashion show were New Look, Diffusion, Phase Eight, Warehouse, Topshop, Oasis and River Island. I am loving the clashing of colours and patterns that were involved in the fashion show. My favourite pieces were definitely from New Look and Phase Eight - I will definitely be visiting both of those stores next Weekend when I am doing some shopping in the centre.

Lola Royle told us that the clashing of different prints and patterns is very on trend this upcoming Season, and we saw a lot of brights, jungle inspired and also 70's inspired outfits. She also told us that fringing in our accessories is going to be pretty popular too. I am keen to pop over to the shops this Weekend to pick up a few statement pieces ready for this Spring/Summer.

If you are local to the West Midlands/Birmingham area, why not head down to Merry Hill Shopping Centre this Weekend to pick yourself a bargain or watch some amazing catwalk fashion shows?
You can get involved on Twitter by using the hashtag #IntuColours

  • You can catch the live catwalk shows on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March on the Lower Mall at Merry Hill Centre. Shows start from 11AM.
  • There will be exclusive offers available on the 28th and 29th only, with over 35 fashion and beauty offers up for grabs, from brands such as Dorothy Perkins and Diffusion. You can find out more information on the website.

Get Britain Writing! #NSW

I have been sharing some posts in the past few Weeks talking about my thoughts on the importance of writing and my love of stationary. This is in celebration of National Stationary Week; a Week which encourages and promotes us to get writing by hand and all things stationary related. It is so important to continue writing by hand; something I am sure a lot of us are guilty of neglecting as the internet and computers are now a huge influence on our lives.

Today I am thinking of ways we can get Britain Writing - have you any suggestions?
Here are a few ideas I have come up with:

  • Writing letters to distant relatives and old friends
  • Sending postcards
  • Writing a sentence every day on what has made you happy on a small piece of paper and store it in a jar
  • Writing a list of things you want to achieve this Year
  • When you wake up, write about your dreams and look into what they mean
Can you think of anymore? Be sure to let me know and I will add your ideas to the list!

As it is nearing National Stationary Week, I thought I would share with you a pretty nifty piece of stationary. This is the Kokoyu Stapeless Staper! Instead of clipping your paper together with staples which are difficult to remove, this cool piece of stationary creates a special fold in the paper ensuring it is all kept together, with just one punch!

Why is writing important to you?
Have you any suggestions on how to get Britain writing?

*I was kindly sent this product,
however I was not asked to feature it on my blog.*

Who is Your Stripe Style Icon?

Fashion through the decades has always been a big interest of mine. I have never particularly followed fashion, but I have always found a lot of inspiration from past fashions and love looking at old pictures of some of my favourite stars to see how they styled themselves. Here is an infographic from Farfetch I thought was really interesting. I would love to hear who you think is your fashion icon out of the three stylish ladies listed here!

Special Mothers Day Cards

As Mothers Day will be here this Weekend coming, I thought I would share with you a beautiful card perfect for the occasion. You may have seen me feature Made With Love Designs in my Valentines Gift and Date Ideas, and so I am back again with a lovely card from their Mothers Day collection.

This card is the Flutter Pink Butterfly Mothers Day Card, costing £4.50. I'm sure you will agree with me that it is a beautiful card, made even more special as it is handmade. I am not the crafty type so being able to buy a handmade card like this is great. I love the design and the 3D butterfly, I know this will go down a treat on Mothers Day - that too with it being personalised; which is very thoughtful and makes the card so very personal to the recipient. I love a personalised touch, and think it is really thoughtful that you are able to choose the colour of the ribbon used on your card.

You can check out the Made With Love Designs entire range of Mothers Day cards on their website here.

Last Minute Gift Ideas for Mothers Day

Mothering Sunday is just around the corner (15th March!) which means that some of us that like to celebrate Mothers Day are planning special things for our Mums and Grandmas. I know it isn't all about the gifts; its about showing your appreciation not just on Mothers Day but every day, but I do think it is nice to give a card, treat her for dinner, do all her chores around the house, or spoil her with something she would like. Here is a little list of some last minute gift ideas if you are still looking for a present.I have played it safe with a scarf; a mug, a perfume and a special bath soak for a good pamper.

Do you celebrate Mothers Day in your family?

An introduction to Argania Haircare

Argania is a hair care brand I hadn't heard of before. Argania is a new beauty brand to the UK that use 100% organic, cold and hand-pressed Moroccan argan oil across their entire range of shampoos, conditioners, oils, self-tans, scrubs and moisturisers.

I am always on the look out for a great shampoo and conditioner combo - my hair is so dull, so anything that can help the condition of it is always appealing to me.
The Argania Desert Defense Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner go hand in hand with each other. I have been washing my hair with both of these products for a few Weeks now and I have to be honest, I am really impressed. It isn't often that a shampoo or conditioner really impress me. I did have my hair cut recently and I feel that using these products has helped to prolong the good condition of my hair. Both the shampoo and conditioner cleanse my hair very well, leaving it soft and silky - and far from the dry and dull I am used to. My hair feels light and in good condition - I have Argania to thank for that.

The Argania Liquid Gold Hair Oil has been a really great alternative to another hair oil I was using. I actually like this Argania Oil a little more than the other brand, mainly because it leaves my hair feeling soft, shiny and light. A little goes a long way with this hair oil - I just rub a small amount onto my fingers and workt he product through my hair. The oil doesn't leave my hair feeling or looking greasy, it just gives my hair a great shine to it and keeps it looking healthy. I use this both on damp and dry hair, as it works well both ways.

Overall, I feel the Argania products I have used are good quality and I am impressed with how well they work with my hair. I would recommend these products if you are looking for a solution to dull and unhealthy looking hair.
Argania is available to buy at Superdrug online. They also have a lovely gift hamper which I think would be a lovely treat for Mothers Day.

*This post contains PR samples, however this does not alter my honest opinion*

First Thoughts: Ordinary Skincare Extraordinary Night Cream

Ordinary Skincare Extraordinary Night Cream

I thought I would share my thoughts on a night cream I have been trying out recently. It is from the brand Ordinary Skincare; a brand I have never heard of or tried before, so I was eager to see how I felt using the product. Ordinary Skincare are a brand fairly new to the UK, who are a highly regarded specialist skincare brand from South Africa.

 First Thoughts

I really did enjoy using this product. I have been using a sample of the Ordinary Skincare Extraordinary Night Cream for a few Weeks now and I do like it as a night cream. The cream is quite thick and has a creamy texture to it, but not greasy. This is something I look for in a night cream as I hate feeling like I have greasy skin before bed! The product smells pleasant and
I have somehow developed a lot of dry skin patches on my face recently, so I am now trying to use products which will help me with this. I feel that this night cream does help with my dry patches as it is so rich and moisturising, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and fresh on a Morning. As I have only been using a few samples of the product I don't feel I am able to give a full review, pbut my first impressions of the product is that it works and is something I would consider using in the future.

Ordinary Skincare products are now available to buy online at http://www.ordinaryskincare.co.uk/

Outfit Inspiration: Chic and Comfortable

I have been trying to have a more healthy outlook on life since January, and I have lost a little bit of weight meaning I can fit into my old clothes - small victories and all of that. I have been trying to put a little more effort with my outfits too - I still want to stay comfortable in clothes but I want to look professional and slightly more stylish than I was dressing before. I really love the utility jeans from New Look. Utility jeans are great because they are practical, comfortable, but also look quite smart when paired with the right blouse. I think the longline skirt is another practical clothing item which also looks smart too. I love the relaxed look of the jeans and shirt together. I think they are a great casual chic combination that you can easily wear to go out to lunch and run errands in the Day. I thought the cat eye sunglasses added a touch of glamour to the outfit; just the addition of accessories like these sunglasses or the cross body bag make a huge difference to an everyday outfit. I love the style of the bag, which I feel could be used from Day to Night, but I am also  a big fan of cross-body bags as they are really useful when you have your hands full and having a busy Day.

Where do you find your style inspiration?

Why Writing Matters To Me #NSW

I have always really enjoyed writing. I still remember some of my first experiences in writing; from learning to form letters, and then learning to write sentences. It is something I have always really enjoyed to do from being a child - I would spend hours jotting down stories on large notepads, I had such a big imagination back then!

Handwriting is still something I try to do as often as I can; sure, we all have computer devices now which make life a little easier sometimes, but there is nothing better than being able to sit and jot your thoughts down by hand. Since finishing my education a few Years ago, I have found handwriting to become less and less of a requirement in my life like it was when I was younger. I am trying my best to embrace the pen and paper and continue to take time out from the computers and write by hand!

It is pretty amazing when you think about the ability some of us have of being able to read and write - something we may take for granted in day to day life. I think handwriting is important and it really matters to me that it continues to be present in our lives - writing by hand shows our imagination, our individuality, and our personality.

27th April sees the beginning of National Stationary Week; a Week which encourages and promotes us to get writing by hand and celebrates all things stationary related.  You can get involved by checking out the website, sending more letters, cards, and get writing!

Cut and Blow Dry at Francesco Group, Birmingham

I recently visited the Francesco Group Hairdressing Salon which is located in the House of Fraser store in Birmingham for a cut and blow-dry.
The staff were really friendly to both me and my friend, who came along to keep me company. I waited for just a short while to be seen, and was offered a drink which is always nice. The salon looks very modern and well equipped, definitely somewhere I would visit again.

I have dull, dry and damaged hair which looks lifeless a lot of the time, so I was looking forward to seeing what they could do with my hair.
My stylist was James, who asked me what hairstyle I was hoping for. I told him about my hair looking limp and lifeless and he suggested to take a few inches off, and to add a slight fringe and adding layers. This is exactly what I wanted, I didn't want to take much length from my hair. He then asked another hairdresser (who for the life of me I can't remember her name, but she was really lovely!) to wash my hair. After I had my hair washed, James then cut a few inches from my hair, and started to cut in layers. James was really friendly and chatty and gave great advice of how to achieve a more natural but voluminous look at home. After he had cut and blow-dried my hair, he used serum and hairspray to set more of a natural look, which is just what I wanted.
I received great customer service from the team at Francesco Group, Birmingham. I was really happy with my hair cut - they cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and gave helpful advice on how to style my hair in the future. If you are local to Birmingham, I really would recommend visiting the hairdressing salon. I will definitely be returning there again as I am really happy with the results and am even thinking about going back to possibly change the colour of my hair!

Just in time for Mothers Day, Francesco Group are offering a £45 gift card, perfect for gifting that special Mum or Gran of yours with a little pampering - complete with a yummy box of chocs!
You can read more about it on the image below.

*I was offered this cut and blow-dry from the lovely Alison Jameson PR team in return for a review, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lovea Pomegranate Shampoo

Lovea Pomegranate Shampoo

Are you a fan of natural hair care products? Keep reading to hear more about natural beauty brand Lovea and a review of their pomegranate shampoo!

Lovea has become a firm favourite brand of mine for a while now. All of Lovea's products are made with natural ingredients, and are certified organic. Natural beauty products have become my preferred choice when it comes to choosing my skin, hair and body care products; mainly because I suffer from sensitive skin and I find that products which contain natural ingredients do not cause a reaction to my already sensitive skin.

I was looking forward to using this shampoo, as strange as that sounds, but as pomegranate is one of my favourite scents, I really wanted to see what it smelt like. I found that it smelt great and exactly like pomegranate - very fresh and fruity.
The shampoo itself is actually aimed for those with coloured hair, which is half of the reason why I picked this one from their other line of shampoos. My hair is quite damaged due to dying it, so I was hoping to see good results from using the shampoo.
I feel that the shampoo is a decent product - it does the job. It washes my hair really well, smells great and not synthetic, and also leaves my hair feeling soft and nourished. I also found that it helped to hold my hair colour well, and my hair colour hasn't faded quite as much as it normally would with other shampoo that I usually use. I think Lovea as a brand is really reasonably priced; you sometimes find that natural hair products are quite high in price but I find Lovea very affordable and would recommend them as a brand to anyone looking for natural beauty products without the heavy price tag.

The shampoo retails at £5.99 - and is available online from MyPure.

February Degustabox

Hi all! Another blog post from me this Week... I am trying to stay organised.

Beauty subscription boxes have been really popular in the past few Years, proving a real hit with beauty fans. Something I think is a fantastic idea is a food subscription box - something everyone in the family can enjoy. In comes Degustabox: the surprise subscription box which lands on your doorstep once a Month with a variety of 9-14 food and drink products. The box costs £12.99 but you can get £3 off with my code W0AQI. The February Degustabox arrived a few Days ago, so I wanted to share with you what was inside the box this Month.

Lily O Briens Cocoa Cookie Crunch
Lily O Briens is definitely one of my favourite chocolate brands, they taste delicious!  The Cocoa Cookie Crunch chocolates are crunchy chocolate pieces smothered in milk chocolate. These will definitely be saved for treat Day.

Original Melba Thins
I enjoy eating cracker bread, and these look like they'd be a great alternative. Melba Thins are basically a crisp toast, where you can add a topping (cheese, salad, ham etc) to make a simple and quick snack.

Schwartz Flavour Shots Indian Mild Masala Curry
Schwartz Flavour Shots Spanish Paella
I have tried the flavour shots before in the past and I find them really useful. You can just add them to whatever dish you are cooking and it adds a splash of flavour. I am really looking forward to trying the masala curry shot, as I haven't tried this before.

Jack Links Beef Snack Original
This is a product I hadn't ever heard of before, so Thank You Degustabox for always introducing me to new foods! Jack Links is the Worlds best-selling meat snacks company. The beef snack is an easy-to-eat bar, aimed at those who are busy and looking for a healthy snack on the go.

Beet It Sport Beetroot Bars
Another brand I have never heard of before now; Beet It Sport Beetroot Bars contain c400mg of dietrary nitrate and are used for research into the benefits of lowering blood pressure and improving sports performance

American Muffin Company Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins
American Muffin Company produce gluten free, wheat free muffins, cakes and cookies. I am really looking forward to snacking on one of the muffins; they look really tasty - who doesn't love chocolate chips?!

Peanut Hottie Flavour Hot Drink
Oh wow, this sounds amazing, doesn't it!? I have actually seen this before in the shops but didn't buy it because I wasn't sure I would like it, so I am thrilled to get the chance to try it now thanks to Degustabox. It is a really tasty drink; perfect for a bedtime drink, and I am really glad Degustabox included this in this Months box because I probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise.

Whole Earth Three Nut Butter
The Three Nut Butter combines cashews, hazelnuts and peanuts to create a tasty alternative to butter. The butter is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and contains no added sugar, which of-course is fantastic in a spread.

Laimon Fresh Drink
This drink is a sparking lemon, lime and mint flavoured drink which contains 100% natural ingredients. It is perfect for drinking as it is or even adding as a mixer to make a delicious cocktail!

I am really impressed with this Months box. In all honestly I haven't been disappointed with the service at all during the entire time I have been receiving the boxes. I think it is a really good concept and will continue to recommend the service as I do really think it is a great way to try different foods, experiment with cooking and maybe even find some new favourite brands.

NEW RELEASE: Bionsen Caring Touch Deodorant

bionsen caring touch deodorant review

bionsen caring touch deodorant review

Deodorant is something I haven't featured much on my blog in the past; but as I blog about pretty much everything else in life, I thought "why not?" - we all like to keep ourselves feeling fresh and smelling good, so lets talk deodorant.

Today I am sharing my thoughts on a brand new product which is always exciting for me. Bionsen's new roll on deodorant; Caring Touch, launches in-store exclusively at Boots on 9th March 2015.
Bionsen are well-known for all of the ingredients in their products being completely paraben, alcohol and aluminimum free. Their products are dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic. So, What’s new? A new fragrance and added moisturising properties/Vitamin E.

With added vitamin E and emollients to leave skin feeling smooth, soft and fresh, Bionsen Caring Touch Deodorant effectively neutralises bacteria responsible for body odour, while protecting delicate skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and cool for up to 24 hours.

I am in all honestly really impressed with this product. Bionsen Caring Touch smells incredibly fresh and the scent lasts well. The deodorant is effective for quite a considerable amount of time for a deodorant, it lasts all Day which I find very impressive for a roll-on body product. Previously, I didn't use roll - on deodorants much in the past as I found a lot of the brands I had tried weren't effective and just didn't cut it, whereas Bionsen's Caring Touch ticks all the boxes for me - it keeps me feeling clean and fresh, deodorizes while still feeling comfortable and soft on the skin. Another amazing thing about Bionsen Caring Touch is that like their other products, this too is paraben free, alcohol free, and aluminium free - so no nasties are included in the ingredients of this deodorant. I have very sensitive skin so this is something which I find really important when choosing a deodorant.

Bionsen Caring Touch is only available from Boots at £2.35, and launches in store 9th March, 2015. Be sure to pick up yours!
