My First Jo Malone Purchase

A luxury brand like Jo Malone isn't one I am used to purchasing; it isn't that I don't adore the fragrances because I do, it is just a little out of my price range and I don't often splurge on myself. I recently went to Bicester Designer Outlet Village and visited the Cosmetics Company Store, where they had a range of different high end beauty brands with a slight discount on their products. There was a small selection of Jo Malone products so I decided I would treat myself to my first Jo Malone product; in the form of a bath oil in the scent English Pear and Freesia.
The scent definitely stays in the room for a few hours after using the bath oil. The bath oil has a mature, slightly fruity but more floral scent. After using this in the bath, my skin feels very soft and moisturized; a real treat for the skin.

Have you tried any Jo Malone bath oils?

Conditioner for Brunettes

Taking care of the colour of my hair is always something I have struggled with. I have tried tonnes of different hair styling and hair care products to prolong the colour of my hair, but not many products live up to their claims. I have found one which actually does.
This is the Henara Bronze Shine Conditioner with natural henna and walnut extracts. I had never heard of this conditioner or the brand previously, but the brand have a selection of other hair care products which I will definitely be investing in.
This conditioner is designed to enhance brunette hair. I have been using this conditioner for a few weeks now and the colour of my hair looks freshly dyed and vibrant. I usually dye my hair every three months or so, and by the second month the colour starts to become more dull. This hasn't been the case while using this conditioner though. It leaves my hair feeling super soft, looking healthy and full of life.
The best of all? This product is incredibly affordable; I have found it online for as little as £1, what a bargain.

  • A scalp protectant spray
  • A moisturiser, lip balm, powder and foundation with a high SPF factor
  • A sun hat and sunglasses
  • A cover up
  • A good after sun gel like this one from Delph*; it is very soothing and will prevent the skin from peeling and will also help to prolong the tan and reducing the sun's ageing effects
  • A hand cream with a high SPF

NEW: Natural Collection Brow and Highlight Products

Natural Collection are one of my favourite brands when it comes to powder and eye liner - but something I was excited to try from them where their brand new eye brow and highlight collection. I am a huge brow grooming fan and always keen to try out every brow-kit going, so I was eager to give the Natural Collection Brow Kit, Brow Pencil and Brow Gel a whirl.

The brow kit is good value for money costing just £1.99; it comes with a powder and wax which have a great pigmentation and when using this kit, my brows look natural and stay in place all day.
I don't always use a brow pencil, but when I do, I like to achieve a neat and tidy finish, which is so easy with the Natural Collection brow pencil. It is super soft and doesn't drag on the skin either - bonus. Probably my favourite product from the eyebrow range is their brow gel. It is a great tool to define and fill in the brows. The medium brown shade is a perfect match for my 'brows too.

Along with the brow products, Natural Collection also recently released their new highlighter sticks in shades rose glow, copper glow and coral glow. These are so easy to use if you are a highlighter novice like me; simply apply to the skin and blend to give a subtle shimmer and glow. My favourite of the three is coral glow, I think it is the perfect highlight for Summer!

July Degustabox Review

Hey everyone! I am back today with another Monthly post on the contents of the July Degustabox. I have decided to do it a little different to usual; and have split the items up into categories so you can really get a feel for how much variety is in the box. As always, you can use my discount code BLDEG15 at the checkout to receive a generous £7 off your next order. Enjoy!

Sweet Treats
For tasty treats this Month we were spoiled for choice! The Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles Infusions were so tasty and are actually one of my favourite sweets of all time. Something new to try were the Itsu Crispy Seaweed Thins, now I have to be honest I wasn't too keen on these but I can see why some people would love this sort of snack. The Bahlsen Choco Leibniz are, in my opinion, one of the best chocolate biscuits out there, and I love that they now come in handy portion packs. The last sweet treats are the Brookside Chocolates, which are fruit and berry flavours blended with dark chocolate; I know these were consumed very quickly and I was told they are delicious.

Useful Cupboard Items
The Sarson's Balsamic Vinegar is always a useful item to have in the home, and is perfect for salads. The
Jordans Swiss Style Muesli is delicious, and as a very fussy muesli eater I must say I definitely approve of this one! The Felix Gerkhins will come in handy in the Summer I am sure for a good old BBQ, and the
Seabrooks Crisps stole the show with my family, as they all seemed to absolutely love these (I didn't manage to try them as they had all long gone...).

Drinks
A few drinks were included in the box this Month, which were the ALO Drink; made with Aloe Vera, the Rejuvenation Water which was my favourite of the four as it was very fruity and I am really interested in the claims the brand make (fuel the immune system and builds a resilience to stress), the Berry White Drinks were really sweet and refreshing, and finally the Cracker Drinks Fruit Drink which we haven't yet tried, so I can't tell you much about that one.
