A 'Boring But Essential' Beauty Haul

Shower gel, deodorant, toner... all things I always need but find they are pretty basic, boring items to shop for sometimes. I seem to finish products all at the same time, so I tend to grab my essentials altogether when I am shopping at Boots or Superdrug. Even though these items might not be too interesting, I do buy most of them regularly so I thought it could be interesting for you to have a peak at some of my every day essential repurchases and a few new buys.

Boots Essentials Nail Polish Remover
This is just the cheapest nail polish remover I have tried that actually works well. It removes nail polish very easily, and even removes glitter polishes too.

Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash
I use a variety of body washes and tend to pick up whatever is on offer. I really love Dove and this body wash is probably one of their best products ever.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I haven't tried this micellar water before so as it was just £1, I popped it in my basket to give it a go. I thought I would pick up the smaller 125ml bottle as it is ideal to try out for the first time.

Boots Therapy Moisturise Shower Gel
Another body wash, I know I know. I really like this one, it has jojoba oils as the main scent which smells great and it is so relaxing for an evening bath.

Boots Compressed 48hr Citrus Anti-Perspirant
I have tried Boots deodorants before and they have always done the job, so I decided to buy this citrus scented spray this time. It smells nice, so that's a good sign!

Tesco Pro Formula Range

I'm no stranger to using own-brand beauty products, and thought I would share a few of my favourite products from Tesco. I tend to pick a lot of things up from Tesco, as their Pro Formula range is very reasonably priced and are really good products that have worked well for me.

The Pro Formula Radiance Toner is a great product to cleanse and refresh the skin. It is really inexpensive but does a great job of removing make-up.
The Pro Formula Exfoliating Facial Scrub is a really great product. As you can see from the picture my tube has seen better days as I have had it a while now, It cost around £2 and is just as good as other facial scrubs I have tried which were much more expensive than this.
The Pro Formula Anti Dandruff Shampoo is a product I pick up usually once a Month because I suffer from a sensitive scalp. I often struggle with hair products as they often make my skin flare up, but this shampoo is great for sensitive skin and helps to keep dandruff at bay too.
The Pro Formula Purifying Day Cream is a light mosituriser which I use on a Morning before I apply my make up. It doesn't cling to dry patches and doesn't make my skin any more oily, while still leaving my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

All of the products I have tried from the Pro Formula range are really inexpensive but deliver with great results. I definitely recommend looking into the range if you are looking to alternate from high - end products to save a little money, as these few products from Tesco do a fine job and are just as good.

Have you ever tried any own - brand beauty products from the supermarket?

Madara Balancing Toner

Madara Balancing Toner - Northern Raspberry

Toner is something I feel is essential in my skin care routine. As well as cleansing and moisturising, I find using a toner is important way of looking after your skin, as it helps to condition and cleanse the skin, as well as reducing the appearance of pores. I use toner on a Morning and Night to help clean and refresh my face, and to remove my make up. Before using toner on my skin, I use a facial cleanser, and then I simply apply some of the toner to cotton wool pads and clean my face, followed by applying a good moisturiser.

The Toner I am featuring today is by Madara, and is called a 'Balancing Toner'.
Madara sell three different Toners suited to different skin types. I decided on the balancing toner as my skin is oily/combination, and I also have dry patches.
The Madara Balancing Toner helps to control oily areas of my face, without irritating the dry areas. Madara claim that this toner helps to minimise pores, which I'm not sure if it completely minimizes my pores, but it does slightly reduce them.
The toner is very gentle on the skin and doesn't have any harsh chemicals. I am impressed with the toner as it doesn't cause any irritation to my skin, it does not sting at all. After using the toner, my skin feels soft and refreshed.
The toner smells very fresh and fruity, which is something I don't tend to notice in skin care products.
As Madara are a natural skin and body care brand, all ingredients in their products are completely natural and are ecologically certified.
A little goes a long way; I can see this 200 ml bottle lasting a while.

I would recommend this toner if you have oily/combination and sensitive skin. It is very soothing and gentle on the skin.
The Madara Balancing Toner* 200ml is available from MyPure for £12 *currently £10.80*. You can check out other Natural Body, Skin and Beauty products at MyPure.

Living Nature Skin Care Minis for Oily and Combination Skin

Living Nature* is a brand which I have featured quite frequently on my blog in recent Months. I love their eco-friendly ethic, as well as falling in love with their great quality products of-course.

I was intrigued to try out their new Skin Mini's - which include a Cleanser, Toner and Lotion for all of your skin care needs. The packaging is really cute and simple - I love the box the products are housed in. I stay quite simple with what I know works for me by using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser in my daily routine, so this little mini kit is ideal for me. Each bottle containing 30ml of product, these mini's are perfect for traveling, Holidays and even trialing out the products to see what they are like! Coming in at RRP £19.50 for the kit, I think the Skin Mini's are really reasonably priced if you want to try out a completely new skin regime. The Mini's last between 4-6 if used on a daily basis, which is quite a long time for the size of the products. These little kits are available for three different skin types; Dry and Mature Skin, Normal Skin, and Oily and Combination Skin, which is the set I am featuring today. Lets face it - if you are looking to buy skin care products for your specific skin type - it can get a little confusing on what is best for you - this handy set is already catered for you and your skin type.

Now, onto what I thought of the products. I have enjoyed using this Oily and Combination Skin set - before I used an array of different products from a variety of different brands so it was quite refreshing to use all three products that work well together. The Purifying Cleanser is quite a light cleanser which foams really well. It has helped to remove make - up and excess oil from the face, it feels very fresh and leaves my skin feeling awake. The Hydrating Toning Gel is really soothing and gentle on the skin, after using this my skin feels very refreshed and bright. My favourite of all three, the Balancing Day Lotion provides my skin with a fresh face after I have applied it. It makes my skin feel soft and really moisturised, as well as feeling really hydrated. I really enjoy using these three products together, as I feel my skin has become more moisturised, refreshed and restored.

You can purchase The Living Nature Skin Mini's from The Botanical Brands website here.
