Bodhi Ylang - Ylang Incensa Sensual Body Moisturiser

Ylang-Ylang Incensa Sensual Body Moisturiser

£23 for a 250 ml bottle*

Hi everyone. Today I am reviewing a fantastic Bodhi product. After attending a Bloggers Meet Up in April, a Birmingham based company 'Bodhi' kindly sponsored the Brum Meet Up and gave us a few samples to try. We were even lucky enough to have talks from the founder of the brand, Elijah. He was really lovely and told us a lot of background information on his company and the products. He told us that he suffered with skin problems when he was younger, so had to swap a lot of the lovely fragranced products he had come to love. He told us that he missed the lovely scents in these products and decided to make his own!

This particular product is a sensual body moisturiser, it is scented with Ylang Ylang and Patcouli, which are spiked with Pink Peppercorn, Honeysucke, Organic Shea Butter, Kukui Nut and Coconut Oils. I am awful at describing scents but if you think of the word 'sensual' - this moisturiser smells just that! It smells very sophisticated and the scent stays on the skin for a good 5+ hours.

The moisturiser is ultra, well... moisturising! It leaves my skin feeling super soft, smooth and glowing. My skin feels supple and awake after using this after a shower in a Morning - it is a great product which smells divine  I can't wait to start using more Bodhi products.

You can purchase this gorgeous product from Bodhi's website here.
You can also contact Bodhi on their Twitter Handle.

Dr Hauschka Powder Duo

Dr Hauschka Powder Duo in 02 Warm Breeze

Dr Hauschka is a brand I have heard lots about but never owned anything from them. I absolutely fell in love with this beautiful product when I was kindly gifted it at the Brum Blogger Meet. As you can it is a beautiful powder duo in the shade 02 Warm Breeze.

It includes two cheek tones, a bronzy light brown and a light peachy toned pink. They are very Summer-esque tones which brighten up the face giving it a nice, healthy glow. The powder is glittery so I would probably use this duo on a night time rather than in the day, or in the Summer months. The powder duo are both very pigmented and work really well together as a bronzer and blush duo.
The product also includes a large mirror and a lovely little brush which is perfect for contour.

This duo lasts well for a good 6+ hours which is fantastic! I also think this product smells lovely, it may sound strange that I comment on a powder duo's scent but this really does smell so sweet.
I haven't got any faults with this product but the price is pretty steep for my budget.

This beautiful powder duo is available at Harvey Nichols  for £33.50*

Meet My Blogger Buddy Clare!

Hi everyone! Sorry I  have been away from the blogging scene a little while, my little laptop has decided it doesn't want to to work for me anymore so I haven't really had chance to do anything blog related until I came onto the home computer today. I have missed blogging!
Anyway, today I am writing about something I am thankful for thanks to blogging!
I am really grateful that through blogging I have made some great friends, and one in particular... a certain young lady named Clare.

I remember the first time I came across Clares blog, she left a comment on one of my posts saying something along the lines of she was interested in finding bloggers in the West Midlands.  From then on me and Clare would speak quite often on Twitter, and eventually swapped numbers and now we talk almost every day.

I met her for the first time in January at a Birmingham Blogger Meet Up. It was like we were old friends! Since then we have met up a few times and even went to The Big Reunion concert together which was a great night.

Although I dont see Clare a lot I speak to her much more than I do than my friends from School, College and work. It is great to have a close friend like Clare as she is really down to earth and so lovely, its nice to have someone that adores beauty and blogging as much as I do!

If you haven't already i think you should head over to Clares blog as it is fantastic, tell her I sent you :)

What is your favourite part of blogging?
Have you met lots of friends through your blog?

The Skin Regime Book Review

The Skin Regime by Dana Ramos*

I have always felt really self - conscious about my skin. I have naturally oily skin, and constant flushed cheeks which isn't a good look. I also, like many of us get a few spots, but blemishes are my main problem.

When I was contacted by Dana Ramos, author of The Skin Regime: Boot Camp For Beautiful Skin, I was delighted that someone had created a book which explains thoroughly what products (and other factors) help your skin.

Her book is a great read which covers the importance of looking after your skin, information on skin care that has false claims and how to spot them, advice and warnings on the use of skin care, how to use skin peels with make up, and using skin peels on the rest of the body. It gives great advice on how to use skin peels and what to expect after the use. The book is witty and interesting, I would recommend to anyone as it holds a lot of information I had no idea about previously.

I used the skin peel provided by Dana after reading her book and following the instructions. It felt quite tingly and strange  on the skin but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. I used it at around 6PM, after following the instructions I washed my face afterwards and carried on with my evening. I didn't think much about it for a few days but it was about the 3rd or 4th day after use I noticed a huge difference to my face. As I mentioned, my face is always red and flushed but I woke up after a few days with my cheeks looking normal for once! I couldn't believe the difference the peel made! This is coming from a girl that has tried hundreds of products which promised to get rid of redness.... And failed! The peel made my skin feel a lot more calm in a sense, it looked glowing and radiant, I wasn't expecting such a result at all. As for spots and blemishes I only had a couple on my chin previous to using the peel, they had all pretty much gone after a few days.

My verdict
I think from my experience using the peels has proved that they have worked really well for me and my skin. The results of my skin has shown how affective skin peels can be. Before reading Danas book I didn't know anything about skin peels but always thought they sounded quite scary - I now know as long as you use the correct peels your skin will be fine! It literally takes a few minutes in the day to do which is a lot less time I usually spend cleansing and using toner and other skin care products.

If you are interested in knowing more about skin peels and Danas book head over to http://www.theskinregime.com/ - You can read the first 30 pages of her book on the site!
You can also keep upto date by joining the newsletter, liking The Skin Regime on Facebook and following on twitter @TheSkinRegime  :)

Have you ever tried a skin peel? X

Bon Jovi Because We Can Tour!

Last weekend me and my best friend Kayleigh tootled off to Villa Park to see the fantastic Bon Jovi on their Because We Can tour! I was so excited having being a big fan since I can remember. My boyfriend bought us tickets for my Christmas presents but unfortunately couldn't go as he had other commitments, which meant my friend could come along which was good as we love Bon Jovi, my boyfriend isn't a big fan of them.

We caught two trains to get to Villa Park which was a story in itself, drama! We waited for an hour for the gates to open, then got us some food, drinks and swent and found our seats. We had okay seating really as we were centre to the stage facing towards , but we were far back but it was still amazing!

Their support bands were 'Of Kings and Captains' a band I had never heard of before but they were really good! Their second support act to my surprise were 'The Enemy' I was really shocked to see them there as I really like them, I follow their page on Facebook/Twitter and they never mentioned it! I don't think many people there knew who they were but I was singing my head off haha.

Bon Jovi graced the stage at 8PM sharp and WOW they are possibly the best band I have ever seen live, I love my music and seeing live music is definitely one of my favourite things to do I was amazed! They played some of their new songs, loads of their old classics and they stayed on stage until about 22:50! Almost 3 hours on Bon Jovi, they were fantastic.

Their set up was really cool as they had the front of a car (see picture below) which changed colour throughout different songs.
I would love to see Bon Jovi live again as they were incredible and would recommend to anyone to see them live as it is an experience in itself!

What is the best live performance you have been to?
