Time for a Tea Party

I love a good tea party. Ever since I was young, this was always what I wanted to do for my birthday. Rent a room out for a disco? No thanks. A cinema trip and a McDonalds? No again. I loved having people round for tea and cake, nothing has changed there. Any excuse for afternoon tea and I am all over it! I threw a little tea party recently; trying to make the most of the last of this weather, and had a lot of fun.

With GBBO hitting our TV screens recently, it inspired me to get a little gathering together and host a little tea party with a few sweet treats. I could have probably made some cakes myself but I was strapped for time. If I get some more free time next time I will definitely be getting my bake on and hoping my guests love whatever crazy concoction I make! (on second thoughts, maybe I should stick to buying them).

I absolutely love the beautiful party ware from Talking Tables. With a mix of products from two of their ranges; Truly Alice and Truly Scrumptious, they perfectly fit my tea party theme. Everything is such good quality and I'm so impressed with it all; in particular, the bunting and garland - so cute.

I can't decide which bunting is cuter - the lampshade garland or the floral fabric bunting?

How gorgeous are these paper cups and straws?! The pretty napkins are almost too cute to use, just look at the detail on them.

The BEST cake of them all. Coffee cake!

I love these cute Party Picks, they would be great for canapes.

These Cake domes make a perfect addition to any tea party, I just popped in some mini chocolate short bread bites in these but you could put pretty much anything little in these to make them look like a great showstopper at the table! They could even make great little gifts or favours.

Are you looking for cute partyware for a wedding, party or get together? I can't praise Talking Tables enough; they have a huge selection of products to choose from and something to suit pretty much any theme.

Homeware Wishlist: Bedding

I have been loving Pinterest and searching the internet for bedroom inspiration just lately, and have come up with a little list of some lovely bedding items I think would look great together.

First on my list is this percale euro sham pillow from Parachute, who are a luxury bedding brand. From the description, it sounds like the most comfortable pillow. Next up is the J by Jasper Conran Grey and Blue striped 'Bingham' bed linen duvet set from Debenhams. I think that the euro sham pillow would look perfect ontop of the duvet set as the colours tie in perfectly. The Grey Brushed Herringbone Throw from Dunelm would look great to layer at the bottom of the bed ontop on the duvet, and would be great for those cold nights. Another cushion which I think is adorable is this one from Not On The Highstreet; called the Cow and Calf cushion. I think two of these (one each side of the euro sham pillow) would bring the bedding in together and look very homely. I really like the blues and greys and think they tie in really nicely together.

Adding some sparkle to the home with LED Hut

I love adding fairy lights and decorative lights to the home that add a homely touch. There is something special about having LED lights on at night which makes our house feel really cosy. You may have seen a previous post of mine where I showed you our Christmas Tree with some beautiful pink LED Lights from LED Hut. Today I'm reviewing a beautiful branch light set that they kindly sent out for me to review, isn't it so pretty!?
LED Hut are the one stop online shop for all things LED and Lighting. They pride themselves on fantastic customer service and great quality products. LED Hut are one of the leading retailers in the UK for LED products.

The brown branches fit in perfectly with the theme of our decor in both the living room and bedroom. There are 16 lights attached to the branches. As you can see, the lights are white and are scattered across the branches. As well as the lights, there are realistic berries attached to the branch too. The branch lights look great standing alone, and they also look good with other branch sets in a vase to bulk them out a little. I also think they would look effective lay down on a windowsill or fireplace, so this is something we will be trying out too.

The branch lights are battery operated (batteries included) and the battery box can be easily disguised by putting at the back of the branches.
I really like the traditional, yet contemporary style of these branch lights. Even when they are not turned on, they are a great decorative piece. I love that they are something you can add to a room which are for all Year round - not just for Christmas - which I find quite a challenge when buying LED lights as they often look festive. This is why I love these - they are perfect for every Season and fit in with the theme of the room perfectly. They add a little rustic chic to a room, which looks effortless yet stylish.
LED Hut stock a variety of branch lights which you can view here.

Frame Again

Do you find the task of finding a nice photo frame and then having to print off your photographs a hassle? I know I do. I love having photo frames and pictures dotted around my bedroom. I am a big fan of decorating my room with photo's, I love being able to reminisce on great memories. I really like  frames that are that little bit different and not your average 6x4 wooden frame, so anything cute or modern is always a winner in my eyes. I also find it irritating that I have so many Instagram pictures which are quite difficult to frame - it can be expensive to get them printed off and I have had trouble finding frames to completely fit the pictures due to Instagram's square fixed size.

It is so time - consuming printing off pictures and then having to cut them to size to display in your frames - this is why I love Frame Again. They take away the hassle of printing the photographs as you simply upload your picture directly from Instagram or from your computer, and they arrive already fitted into your frame - which is also designed by you! You can choose the colours of the frame base and the frame ring - as you can see from my pictures I opted for a very classic black and white, simply because I think the colours are really versatile and will match the decor in every room of the house. The quality of the photo paper is really good, I wasn't sure how my image would look as it was taken from an iPhone but the printing is really good quality and I am impressed with the results.

Another fun fact is that the frames are actually free standing; as you can see from the images above; Frame Again frames are really attractive, modern and cute cube shapes with a thick base meaning they can stand alone without anything holding them up. Of - course, you can also hang the frames against a wall if you want to.
After browsing their website I also discovered that the frames have magnetic sides, so if you have a few frames this will make a great display altogether. This is how the frames work - with magnets. The frame itself is actually kept together by magnetic force, which makes it much more safer than having to bend the metal at the edge of a frame when changing pictures. I don't know about you but that is one of my pet peeves when changing photographs in frames.
You can even change the photo in the frame if you wish to, it is actually really easy and simple to do. Instructions are provided on the sleeve that the frame arrives with. Delivery is really quick and my frame arrived really well packaged.
Frame Again is such a straight-forward website to use, I really recommend Frame Again if you like to display your special pictures in a modern way.

*I was given a voucher code to trial out Frame Again. All opinions are 100%  honest and my own*

Shoe Lovers Wall Print from Chatter Box Walls

If you haven't already heard of Chatterbox Walls, they are an online personalised print and poster specialist which stock a variety of different prints which are available in different sizes.
I have browsed their website a few times now and I really love a lot of their prints; they range from sports, quotes and fashion themes, there is really something for everyone. They also stock 'likes' prints, a print where you can list a persons hobbies and favourite things, which are growing really popular lately.

I decided on the Shoe Lovers print for my Sisters bedroom. It seemed very fitting as she loves shoes and her bedroom is full to the brim of heels! We picked this brown colour for the print as her bedroom decor theme is going to be leopard print, so it fits in really well with the theme of the room. I love that you can add your own personal statement, too. My Sister actually finds it quite deflating that she can never buy anything with her name on because nowhere stocks her name, so it is great to be able add her name to this and make it that little bit more personal and special to her.

I absolutely love the outcome of this print. The quality of the paper is just fantastic, it is so glossy. It looks perfect in the frame I already had, and looks great on the wall. It is so professional looking and I am honestly very impressed with the quality.

ChatterBox Walls have a huge range of different designs of prints to choose from. Their prints would make a great gift to a friend or family member, or even a little treat to yourself to add some more personality to your own home. You can check out their huge variety of prints on their website here.

*I was kindly offered to review a Wall Print from Chatterbox Walls, though all of my opions are 100% honest and my own*

The Christmas Boutique

Are you looking for beautifully crafted Christmas decorations for a reasonable price? I think I may have discovered probably one of my all time favourite Christmas Decor websites - The Christmas Boutique.

Set of three Hanging White Glitter Star Decorations £9.99
Set of Two Angel Christmas Tree Ornaments with White Hearts £5.99
Set of Three Printed Bird Ceramic Hanging Decorations £.9.99
Set of Six Wooden Penguin Christmas Tree Decorations  £7.99
Small & Large Faux Snowball Christmas Display Confetti Set £7.99
Extra Long Fabric Star Advent Calendar with Felt Numbers £19.99
Set of Two Natural Linen Christmas Stockings with Stag Designs £14.99

The Christmas Boutique sell pretty much everything you need to decorate your home this Festive Season. From stockings, garlands, baubles and wall art, The Christmas Boutique have all you need for a beautifully decorated Christmas at just one stop.
When I was given the opportunity to feature some of their items on my blog, I jumped at the chance. I love Christmas, and after having a browse of their website, saw that they stock such a huge range of different decorations to suit anyones taste. They sent out a bundle of surprises, I did not know what I would receive which was really exciting. I am so impressed with all of the decorations. They are very 'me' and suit my taste perfectly. I prefer more traditional and modern decorations rather than garish ones, so I was thrilled to see a mix of traditional and modern decorations inside the package they sent out to me. I love the colours of the decorations, mostly creams with a hint of blues and greens. All of the decorations are very shabby chic and adorable. I absolutely love the advent calendar; the different materials made from each pocket is such great quality, I can't wait to start filling it with pictures and treats. The stag stockings are very simple yet sophisticated, I think I will use these just as decoration as they are just so pretty. The wooden penguin decorations are adorable and will look great hung on the tree. As well as the sweet angel ornanments, the printed British bird decorations are classic and I can see them always being stylish. I particularly adore the British birds, I will probably reuse these after Christmas around the home or in the garden as they are far too nice to go back in the decoration box!
The faux snowballs will come in a lot of use as we sometimes make Christmas displays on the windowsill, and I can see this being perfect for the job. Finally, I really love the white hanging stars. These can be used to decorate the home all year round really, but I love the touch of sparkle they have for Christmas time.

The products were sent out really well packaged and everything came wrapped seperately inside the box. Delivery was really quick and it is also free standard delivery, which is great!
If you are looking for some new Xmas Decs this year to spruce up your home, give The Christmas Boutique a go, I couldn't recommend them enough.

Grand Designs Live

Last Week I had a really exciting email asking if I would like to attend Grand Designs Live! I of-course said yes, I love the show and absolutely love home decor so I couldn't wait to go along.
Knowing that there would be over 500 exhibitions at the event ranging from technology to decor got me quite excited.

Grand Designs Live took place in the NEC, Birmingham, over four days. It was split into six sections: interiors, gardens, kitchens, bathrooms, technology and build. There was pretty much a stall for everything you could think of; windows, heating, art, furniture, homeware, food, technology, body care, heath and fitness, building - if you are in the trade or are refurbishing your own home, Grand Designs Live is a great place to visit.
I was really interested in browsing some of the exhibitions. There were a lot that appealed to me - definitely something completely different to what I expected. I really enjoyed the talks - I have now decided I want an iKettle - an eyewatering £11 for a kettle but how convenient you can boil your kettle from anywhere in the house at the touch of a button - well, from your iPhone!

The tickets I received were kindly donated by British Gas. British Gas had a stand at the event this year, where they were promoting Smart Energy, in particular smart meters in the home. The British Gas team were at hand with expert advice and helpful tips of how to be in control of your energy. I had a little chat with some of the team, who gave great tips and advice. British Gas offer insulation to homes which need it. You can read more about that here.

*I was kindly gifted to tickets for this event to share my views on my blog. All opinions are 100 %  honest and my own. You can view my full disclaimer policy on the contact tab above*

My Top Picks from Boots 3 for 2 Christmas Gifts 2014

If you are a huge Christmas - crazy person like me, you may have noticed Boots have started to stock their Christmas gifts online and in most stores. I love the 3 for 2 deal at Boots every Christmas; meaning you can buy three people a gift and you get the cheapest gift free. I am always interested to see whats new from their Christmas range every year. I have compiled my Top Picks of their Christmas Gifts in my blog post today of my favourites.

I am always eager to see the No 7 gift sets each year, and the Cosmetics Case is definitely my favourite. It contains all of the beauty essentials you may need. This is a brilliant gift for any beauty lover.
Another well-loved brand which Boots stock every year is Starbucks. I love the Coffee Duo Set as it contains two large coffee mugs - and they are their ordinary design, not just a Christmas theme.
A new perfume this Christmas is Cheryl's Storm Flower. I am a big fan of Cheryl and I have had a sniff of the perfume in the shops, and I must say, it smells lovely. I was surprised Boots are selling the gift set in their 3 for 2 range.
A newbie at Boots this year is Crabtree & Evelyn. I think gift sets like this make a perfect gift and are a little touch of luxury at Christmas time. I love the brand and it is nice to see their gift sets stocked at reasonable prices. The packaging is gorgeous, too.
Finally, the last of my top picks is a beautiful storage box from Vintage Collection. I love how shabby chic it is and would be perfect to add to any dressing table. I think this would be a great gift to a person of any age.

Photo Box from IWOOT

Being a big fan of quirky and unique gifts from IWOOT  (I Want One Of Those) I couldn't wait to share this lovely little Photo Box with you all. With blogging comes my love of taking photographs.I love polaroid style photos and am starting to build up a little collection of all my photos on instagram. This tin is perfect to store all of my photographs; new and old, as well as being perfect for general storage (like storing your lenses and batteries for your camera!) or even a lunch tin!

This photo box is perfect to store all of those funny photographs we all have - you know the ones - the ones that didn't quite make it to the photo album but are memories that you cherish dearly.
The box is sturdy and quite a large size, I expected it to be half the size so I am really impressed. As you can see, the lid of the tin has a cool looking camera face. It looks very retro and would look great displayed in an office. I love this - it would make a great gift for any photographers or Instagram lovers.

The Photo Box is a really popular product from IWOOT. I can see why - it makes the perfect novelty gift, as well as being useful too.
If you are looking for novelty gifts like this one, check out IWOOT's website as they have a huge selection of quirky and fun gifts to choose from.

Stunning Homeware from Melody Maison

Are you a fan of stunning home furnishings and accessories? Melody Maison* is the place to go if you love all home things shabby chic and French inspired.
Melody Maison is an established family run business which was established in 2004, and they have grown as a brand ever since. Well - known for their beautiful home furnishings and decorative accessories, Melody Maison are a fantastic go-to online store to pick up all the beautiful home ware you could ever dream of. Being a huge lover of white decor and simple yet beautiful accessories, I am really excited to share with you a collection of Melody Maison products.

Firstly, I absolutely love this Two Tier Cake Stand Jewellery Display. It is made out of metal and is sturdy and strong, and really easy to fit together as it arrives in just three parts. A beautiful decorative piece, and also makes great storage. It is perfect for storing my favourite jewelley pieces and would also look great used as a traditional cake stand to showcase your latest cupcake creations! It can be used to showcase many other smaller items, such as nail polish or cosmetics. This looks beautiful on my dressing table, I can't help but keep glancing at it.

The Floral Wooden 'Love' Blocks are so shabby chic and adorable. I have dotted them about on my bedside table and I think they look really lovely. I love that the 'L' and 'V' blocks are slightly taller than the others. The floral and spotted patterns on the lettering of the blocks is so pretty. The blocks are great as you can display them as you wish - flat or upright, straight, stacked - its up to you. I think these blocks would look beautiful in pretty much any room of the house.

The White 'Home Sweet Home' Jug is probably my favourite product that Melody Maison are currently selling. It is made from metal and has an image of two doves, a heart and the words 'Home Sweet Home' upon it. It has that rustic look to it and is a perfect piece to add to any window sill or shelf. I think it would be perfect to use as a vase to display a few flowers like daffodils. I really love this jug and think it would make a perfect home warming gift.

The Wooden Hanging Love Plaque  is a beautiful piece to add a touch of shabby chic to any room. I have had it hanging on the side of a mirror in my house (as seen in the image above) and also on my bed frame. I love the vintage look string which looks great hanging straight, as well as slightly slanted which I think looks really sweet. I love the quote 'Love Is In The Air' and think it is a great addition to the home.

The White Wooden Post Rack is perfect for anyone that wants to add a little more organisation to their home. I don't know about you, but in our home all of our post is kept in a messy pile on the kitchen unit which gets moved/lost throughout the day! This handy little post rack is perfect for us. It is a small rack perfect for popping in any post that needs sorting, ensuring it looks neat and tidy, while still keeping your home looking shabby chic and smart.

I absolutely adore Melody Maison's website. There is so much choose from and such a variety of products. I would recommend shopping at Melody Maison as their customer service is fantastic and well - worth a mention.

What is your favourite piece from this post?
